Zion is beautiful. After two long awaited months, it finally rained here on Tuesday night. I stood in the rain until my entire wardrobe was soaking wet. Unfortunatly with rain, also comes lightning. Within a few minutes of the rain stopping, we realized there was smoke coming from Zion Ridge, the housing development that we rent out through the resort. Since Derek and I know the back trails of Ponderosa better than anyone here, we hopped in the suburban, and headed towards the smoke to find the fire. Derek was stoaked to be in the center of the excitement. After wandering around for a while, we were finally able to wander onto one of the back trails, which lead us to a tree which was struck by lightning. We were closely followed by the fire department (four of the rec guide boys in fire fighting outfits). With the fire truck, it only took a little bit to put the fire out, but derek had fun smacking down the flames with a shovel. Thats my man :)
Also, we saw Harry Potter 5 yesterday, which was AMAZING.
